This weekend the weather was terrible, the rain was so heavy it was almost impossible to see through the spray, and what did we do? yes we went on another Christmas Cruise.

This time it was the turn of VWTSW, cruising from Cornwall services to the Bowgie Inn in Pentire near Newquay.  Normally large groups meet at various locations around the South West and cruise to Cornwall services, however this year only 4 vans turned up at Saltash services, in previous years we have had at least 15 maybe even 20.  So was it the weather or the fact that this year it had been changed to a Saturday not the normal Sunday….. who knows.

Today would also be the first outing in the Crafter and what a day to chose.  As I have shown in previous blogs the back of the van is now completely empty so I thought it would be good to run a decibel meter app to compare once the vans has been soundproofed etc.

Anyway back to the cruise, we got to a very wet Cornwall services and the numbers were most definitely down on previous years but we cruised on to the Bowgie Inn.  I was pleased to see some new people on the cruise and some friends I haven’t seen since the end of the camping season.  As always there was a raffle I didn’t as well as last week but I did win a prize so it wasn’t too bad.  I did however miss out on my pre Christmas roast dinner as they only serve roasts on Sundays.  As always I took some photos and video and Vee also helped taking video while I was driving.  So I had enough footage to make another video.

Look carefully and you can see the Crafter hiding amongst the Transporters.

I am currently making my videos with my phone (OnePlus 6) but I think it is time that I stepped up my game and I think I would like to get a Go Pro and a gimbal.  So if anyone would like some free advertising I am up for a deal.
After we left the cruise I bought a bed for the van, I am planning on having a permanent bed but I also want it to be sprung for comfort more on that in a later blog.  Considering this was the first journey in the van it was quite uneventful apart from a headlight bulb blowing .  I also realised there is no way to charge a phone at the moment.
