A Weekend at the Southwest Motorhome Show
September rolled around, and with it came one of the biggest highlights in the vanlife calendar — the Southwest Motorhome Show at Bath & West Showground. We packed up the van, grabbed our camping chairs, and set off for a weekend of exploring motorhomes, meeting fellow travellers, and soaking up the festival atmosphere.
From the moment we pulled into the showground and parked up amongst rows of campervans and motorhomes, we knew we were in for a treat.
Where We Went
The Bath & West Showground in Somerset is the home of the Southwest Motorhome Show 2025. It’s a buzzing event space filled with everything vanlife: trade stalls, accessories, camper conversions, live music, and plenty of vans to tour and admire.
This wasn’t just about browsing — it was about inspiration, community, and enjoying the vanlife spirit.
What We Saw & Did
We wandered through aisles of gleaming motorhomes, quirky camper conversions, and stalls selling every gadget you could imagine for life on the road.
Some highlights:
- 🚐 Rows upon rows of shiny motorhomes and campervans ready to explore
- 🛠️ Trade stalls packed with gadgets, cookware, solar panels, and accessories
- 🎶 Evening entertainment, including a fantastic Queen tribute band, Mercury, that had the crowd singing along
- 🐾 Meeting other vanlifers and introducing our dog, Dora, to new friends
One of our favourite finds was a retro-style van conversion that looked like it had driven straight out of the 1960s — proof that vanlife has both modern and nostalgic charm.
Best Moments & Mishaps
No festival is complete without a few laughs and surprises. From browsing quirky accessories we didn’t know we needed, to sitting outside our van enjoying the evening sun, it was a weekend filled with little moments that made us smile.
The live music on Saturday night stole the show — dancing, singing, and being reminded how much joy there is in the vanlife community when we all come together.
Reflections on the Show
The Southwest Motorhome Show isn’t just about vans. It’s about the people, the stories, and the lifestyle we all share. Walking around the showground, chatting with other vanlife couples, and seeing just how creative people can be with their setups left us feeling inspired for our own adventures.
