Exploring, Adapting, and Unwinding
Greetings, fellow adventurers! Marc and Vee here, sharing the highs and lows of our recent journey through Nusa Lembongan. Strap in as we recount the twists and turns of our experiences, from accommodation surprises to scenic scooter rides and mouth watering local cuisine.
Accommodation Chronicles
Our journey kicked off with a cloud of uncertainty hovering over our accommodation choices. Little did we know that the seemingly minor decision would lead to quite the rollercoaster ride. Two days, two different prices—almost 500,000 difference. Yes, you heard that right! The disparity left us scratching our heads, and while the quality of the stay was initially overlooked, we later found ourselves disheartened. The steep stairs and dimly lit stairs made navigating the room a nightly challenge.

A Culinary Journey
Undeterred by the accommodation hiccups, we set out to explore the local culinary scene. Our breakfast experiences ranged from quirky and butterless to a strange cake affair. The disappointments didn’t end there; the luxurious stay promised turned out to be more “luxury” in name than in reality. Despite the setbacks, we found solace in local gems in Nusa Lembongan, like Mamma Mia, savoring mi Goreng and tofu red curry.
Scooter Expeditions
With scooters rented against our better judgment, we embarked on an exploration of the island. The worn-out swimming pool and tired surroundings were quickly overshadowed by the breathtaking views and hidden gems like Mahana Point and the awe-inspiring Blue Lagoon. Scootering through the picturesque landscapes brought a sense of freedom, even if the rental process had its share of hurdles.
Sunsets, Seaweed Farms, and Serenity
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we witnessed the magic of Nusa Lembongan unfold. The skies painted in hues of orange and pink cast a spell on us, providing a perfect backdrop to the seaweed farmers toiling away. The simplicity and beauty of life at the water’s edge were a stark contrast to the accommodation challenges we faced.

Reflections and Future Adventures
Despite the ups and downs, we acknowledge that not every journey is smooth sailing. Lessons were learned, memories were made, and the journey continued. Our next destination? Gili Air. With the promise of serenity and relaxation, we’re ready to turn a new leaf.
