One of the best ways to soak up Vietnam’s coastal beauty is on a Hoi An to Da Nang scooter trip. On this adventure, we swapped the calm charm of Hoi An for the lively buzz of Da Nang, riding along a sun-kissed coastline, exploring secret beaches, and discovering some of the city’s iconic landmarks. This ride gave us exactly what we came for: real Vietnam vibes.
Where We Went
We set off from Hoi An, a town we’d already fallen in love with, and pointed our hired scooter north towards Da Nang. It’s only about 30 km, but the route hugs the coastline and offers plenty of places to stop, from fishing villages to quiet coves.
As the city skyline grew on the horizon, Da Nang’s modern towers contrasted beautifully against the turquoise waters.
What We Saw & Did
- Scenic Coastal Views – Riding with the sea on one side and lush green hills on the other made the trip unforgettable.
- Hidden Beaches – We pulled over to sandy stretches where round bamboo fishing boats were pulled up on shore. Perfect for photos and a breather.
- Da Nang’s Dragon Bridge – No trip here is complete without seeing the golden dragon stretch across the river. It’s even more impressive up close, and at night, it breathes fire!
- City Vibes – After the laid-back pace of Hoi An, Da Nang’s bustling streets felt electric. Motorbikes whizzed past, skyscrapers towered above, and street food smells drifted on the breeze.

Travelling by scooter in Vietnam always guarantees a bit of chaos mixed with charm. The highlight for us? The sheer freedom of stopping wherever we wanted — from rocky bays to beach cafés. The only real challenge was navigating the traffic in Da Nang, but once we found our rhythm, it was all part of the experience.
