This last week has been spent looking for a new van.  We had decided that we wanted a T5 shuttle because the windows and the sound proofing are all done at the factory.  So far we had viewed 3 shuttles but none of them were really what we were looking for.  I think maybe I am just too picky but one was keyed on every panel, another had lots of trim either broken or missing and the other one we saw was just really dirty and looked worn out.

Well I spoke to someone in Littlehampton who had one for sale and it seemed absolutely perfect we did a video call and I told her what I was looking for and it really seemed to be the one.

So we travelled up to Bognor Regis the night before the viewing and wild camped on the sea front. Between 6pm and 8am parking is free on the sea front.

There was a café that opened at 7am so that is where we had breakfast.  Perfect so far.

After breakfast we headed of to Littlehampton to see the van.  But sadly as you can see it looks great in the pictures but we found quite a few faults with it so we decided that it wasn’t the van for us.  (I am not going to mention the faults as I don’t think it is fair to the seller.) We had paid a deposit but the lady did give us the deposit back so we were happy and it was just another adventure.

On the way home Vee carried on looking to see if there were any vans that we could view on our journey home.  There wasn’t and we started talking about what we actually wanted and we both agreed that we weren’t adverse  to a more classic VW it was about then that Vee found a T4 AutoSleeper in Cardigan Wales so we thought why not lets drive over to Cardigan and have a look.

We contacted the chap selling the van and arranged to view it later in the day.  Well it was a lot further than we thought but we knew we could get there while it was still light.  The van was quite  a bit cheaper than others we had seen for sale and when we got there we realised why it had obviously had a very hard life and when we went inside it smelt of damp, not a good sign for one of these.  When the engine was started it was apparent that it probably wouldn’t even make the journey home so we politely declined the van, and set off for Cornwall.

On the way back we continued searching and we may just have finally found our new van  We go to see it this week and we will reveal it in a video if it does turn out to be the one.

Until next time.
